Sign the Plea

HRH Prince El Hassan bin Talal of Jordan has endorsed the Centre's Children & Nonviolence Initiative and its Sign The Plea campaign. This initiative provides a focal point for faith leaders to express their commitment to honouring the dignity of children.

We invite all citizens to sign the PLEA TO FAITH LEADERS and send it to community, national and international leaders in their faith traditions. First signatories include Deepak Chopra, Fritjof Capra, Iona Campagnolo, Ann Leonard, MP Marc Garneau, Carolyn Pogue, David Suzuki, Joan Durrant, Ervin Laslo, and Dr. Mustafa Ali. The PLEA calls on faith leaders to sign a PROCLAMATION in a show of unity.

We trust that a massive outpouring of public and religious support for respecting the personhood of children could spark a historic multi-faith decree upholding the sanctity of the child, and urging the elimination of physical, mental and emotional violence against children. Such a new religious moment could have a profound impact on human behaviour.
